Opened in 2023 in St. Gallen's historic Stickereibörse building, Multertor restaurant, café and bar is a completely new take on Swiss home-style cooking. Taking famous childhood dishes from the past and elevating them with contemporary presentation and a focus on locally sourced, sustainable ingredients, Tobias Funke and his team offer guests an experience that is modern and sophisticated, but without the stiffness and inaccessibility that traditional fine dining can sometimes carry.
Starting early in the morning with a full breakfast menu, through lunch, dinner and a lively bar afterwards, Multertor is designed to be much more than just a restaurant. As a place where everyone comes together, Multertor required a custom music selection that reflected the diversity of its guests and their expectations, as well as the desired ambiance - from a relaxed early morning coffee to a late evening drink at the bar and everything in between.

Multertor is Swiss former two-star Michelin chef Tobias Funke's latest venture into the world of modern fine dining. Serving delicious regional Swiss cuisine and drinks from 8am until late, Multertor is much more than a restaurant - and a space that requires more than a standard playlist.
Music is one of the most important elements in a restaurant and often receives too little attention. Guests can sense the atmosphere as soon as they enter - whether they consciously notice the music or just hear it in the background depends on the individual. After years of searching and many unsatisfactory solutions, I finally found the perfect partner. Heardis does a great job and is constantly evolving with us. From the outset, it was clear that a generic solution would not do for this exceptional venue - so HearDis! developed a highly customized, comprehensive playlist schedule for the Multertor to ensure that the music selection matched the atmosphere at any given time of day.
The result is a cohesive collection of over 3,500 songs: From laid-back instrumental coffeehouse tracks to dynamic electronic bar sounds, tailored to change dynamically throughout the day. On top of that, we research and add dozens of new songs for Multertor every month.
This extensive selection ensures that we avoid repetition and provide a fresh sounding listening experience throughout the long hours of service. But that is not all: Rather than simply having multiple playlists that need to be switched throughout the day, our team programmed a solution that automatically adapts the content - not only providing a hassle-free, all-in-one solution that eliminates unnecessary work for staff, but also creating the ideal mood backdrop for different clientele and requirements.
